Golf Digest Teaching Professional By Butch Harmon

February, 2010. Golf Digest released an article by Butch Harmon showcasing his three power pointers as the No.1 teaching professional of Golf Digest's list of the 50 greatest teachers in America. Butch Harmon preaches the same swing mechanics as Perseus Athletics. The article highlights his student, Nick Watney, and how he has improved his golf game dramatically right off of the tee, over the last couple of years. Number 2 of the three major points that Butch Harmon teaches Nick is to keep your knee flexed when shifting your weight. "The key to making a proper shift into your right leg as you swing back is to maintain some flex in your right knee. It will help prevent you from overshifting. Keeping the knee flexed also will put you in a tighter body coil at the top, so you can fire into the ball with more speed. It's like loading and releasing a spring."
