The Challenge
A regional compounding pharmacy discovered a possible contamination in several batches of compounded medications. Specific batches needed to be tracked to individual patients, retrieved and replaced with reverse logistics tactics in less than 24 hours. This complex challenge needed to be handled with utmost care and attention to detail, without interrupting treatments.
The Solution
Coordinating with the pharmacy, we utilized our network to ensure that the 250+ deliveries were made within 12-24 hours and another 500+ in less than 48 hours across 13 states. Our Regional Director stayed on site at the pharmacy until the initial emergency had passed.
The Results
With our help, the regional compounding pharmacy replaced and retrieved 100% of the Managed Recall prescriptions in less than 72 hours. No patient treatments were interrupted.
