LIGHT SOURCE REFERENCE STANDARDS
LuminousOptics is pleased to offer the IPR-DES Series of Light
Source Reference Standards from INPHORA —Institute of
Photometry and Radiometry — Concord, CA.
The IPR-DES series of temperature and light stabilized light-emitting
diodes comply with specific photometric and radiometric standards.
The DES units, also known as Standard LEDs, are calibrated
using methods recommended by CIE, NIST, PTB and NPL. Standard
LEDs are specially selected after 800 hours aging for stability.
The temperature is maintained above room temperature for stability
and reproducibility of the light output.
IPR-DES1
Product Information
The IPR-DES 1series consists of GaAsP emitters (green/red),
SIC and GaN emitters (blue) and GaAIAs-GaAs emitters (red/NIR)
light sources. Each standard is carefully selected and tested
to ensure long-term stability of the reference LEDs.

IPR-DES2 Product Information
IPR-DES2 series light emitting front is similar to the IPR-DES1
types, but incorporate the controller unit in their housing,
no external controller is needed. The IPR-DES2 can be inserted
into the holding fixture with the circular front plate defining
a plane of reference for easy distance setting. An additional
holding ring is attached to the housing for making it possible
to fit them into many frequently used standard fixtures. Technical
specifications and colors available are identical to the IPR-DES1
series.
IPR-DES Light Source Calibrations
1. Averaged Led Luminous/Radiant Intensity
Measured according to the CIE recommendations Condition A
or B. Specified units: millcandela, milliwatts/steradian
2. Luminous/Radiant Flux (Total Power Output)
Measured in specially designed LED integrating sphere.
Units: millilumen, microwatt
3. Relative Spectral Power Distribution
Measured within the spectral emission range of the DES with
1 nm steps
4. CIE Chromaticity Coordinates and Dominant Wavelength
Calculated from Relative Spectral Power distribution Data
Other calibrations available upon request.
