Corporate Profile

For the past 50 years, Hoffman Engineering has provided selected markets with high quality integrating sphere components and systems. In late 2002, Hoffman made the decision to expand the products and services offered to its customers by creating LuminousOptics Hoffman, LLC.

Located in central Wisconsin, LuminousOptics designs, produces and sells precision standard and custom radiometric and photometric products addressing the specific needs of the aerospace, automotive, electronic imaging, laser diode, LED, lighting, medical imaging and optics industries. We offer a broad line of integrating spheres, light measurement systems and instruments, diffuse reflectance materials and standards and superior optical calibration services. We specialize in custom design and production services to provide integrated solutions for our customers’ specific light measurement requirements.

LuminousOptics provides the highest quality products and services on the market, at the performance levels and value our customers require. Our engineers, designers and customer service representatives will work with you to provide the right product at the right price for your measurement needs.

LuminousOptics Hoffman, LLC is headquartered in Cont, Wisconsin and has direct sales offices in Germany and France. We also have a global network of qualified representatives who understand the technological, performance, and price needs of our customers.

The lumen is the luminous flux emitted into a solid angle of 1 steradian from a source which has an intensity of 1 candela. In other words, 1 candela = 1 lumen/steradian.
The lumen is a weighted value of watts. The luminous flux of a source is calculated by integrating the product of the spectral flux (power per unit wavlength band) and the CIE V-lambda curve. The integrated value, or area under the curve represents the total lumens from this source.
