Putting
a solo over a progression can be one of the most complex
or simple parts of guitar at the same time. If you
just listen with your ears and follow the way you
feel the music, you'll be on the road to freedom.
But you can also gain more by knowing what chord and
mode will fit.
This
is very simple. I'll give you a list of what type
of chords go with what mode and put it to use the
first day you get it. This way you'll start to burn
this into memory.
After
a while, write out your own progressions and solo
over them with the mode guide. You'll soon notice
that this will become second nature to you.
Remember
that there is no such thing as mode patterns. Modes
are the deviation of the Major mode Ionian. And they
follow the same pattern every time.
A
mode is just a type of sound or feeling that the scale
gives off.
