LONDON - June 2, 1999 -
MediaPhonics, the provider of award-winning desktop telephony products, announced
today that it has been selected by Web + Print Design of The Red Herring to present at
Venture Market Europe this Wednesday, June 2nd at 12:00 AM at the Dorchester
Hotel, London, UK. Venture Market Europe is a two-day, executive forum where CEOs
of the most promising European and Israeli technology companies reveal their business
strategies to technology financiers and other corporate partners.
Frederic James Gentizon, CEO of MediaPhonics, will present
a "live demo" of MediaPhonics PhoneRider, a unique integrator enabling the convergence
of telephony over the Internet (IP) and PSTN - and it is fully integrated into
Windows based applications and totally transparent to users.
Unique product architecture makes the MediaPhonics PhoneRider
telephony device particularly well suited for Internet telephony in web enabled
call centers & E-commerce. Microsoft TAPI & Intel USB standards compliance
and superior call management are features that will also position MediaPhonics
in various segments of the emerging call center markets. These include small distributed
call centers with remote agents, as well as large call centers requiring logging
such as order confirmation, banking and market research.
MediaPhonics target market is
huge
There are over 7,000,000 seats in CTI enabled call centers
and the market is growing at 20% per year. Industry experts anticipate that between
6 and 10% of the market will migrate to remote agents. This produces a remote
agent installed base of $200,000,000 as an immediately addressable market.
E-commerce is in its infancy, and IDC
believes it will grow at a CAGR of 79% from 1998 to 2002. Again, experts believe
that an Internet voice connection is critical to the success of these sites.
OEM strategy
MediaPhonics is addressing call center market through OEMs
and system integrators. Accordingly, substantial marketing contact has been made
with majors.

More than 75 Leading ISVs Prepare Applications for
Windows 2000
REDMOND, Wash. - April 12, 1999 -
Microsoft Corp. today announced overwhelming
support for the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional
operating system and Windows 2000 Server from the independent software vendor
(ISV) community. Applications from companies such as The Baan Co., Seagate Software
and Visio Corp. are explicitly taking advantage of new technologies in Windows
2000, as defined by the Windows 2000-based Application Specification, and application
vendors are ensuring application compatibility with Windows 2000. Microsoft also
announced the Application Catalog for Windows 2000, available with the upcoming
release of beta 3 for Windows 2000, which is designed to provide customers with
the information they need to ensure that their applications will be both compatible
and reliable.
"Microsoft is thrilled with the breadth and volume of exciting
innovation taking place on the Windows platform, thanks to our ISV partners,"
said Brian Valentine, vice president of the Business Enterprise Division at Microsoft.
"Applications designed for Windows 2000 will deliver the highest reliability and
manageability ever seen on the Windows platform."
ISV Support for Windows 2000
More than 75 independent software vendors are demonstrating
their support for the upcoming Windows 2000 beta 3 platform, and many are participating
in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion at COMDEX/Spring (Windows World) the week of
April 19. A list of vendors demonstrating Windows 2000-based applications in the
Microsoft Partner Pavilion or announcing support for Windows 2000 appears at the
end of this document.
"Windows 2000 Server provides a powerful overall platform
for our ERP solutions," said Andrew Dailey, senior vice president of Product Marketing
at Baan. "Baan and Microsoft continue to work closely together to ensure that
Baan integrated enterprise applications take advantage of the unique features
of, and demonstrate a tight level of integration with, Windows 2000 Server and
its Active ectory™ services."
Leading ISVs are creating business applications for accounting,
commerce, construction, customer management, data warehousing, document management,
energy, engineering, enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial services, health
care, hospitality, insurance, legal, justice and public safety, manufacturing,
publishing, real estate and property management, retail, supply chain, and utilities
industries.
Application Catalog Designed for Customers
As Microsoft continues to work closely with ISVs worldwide,
customers can obtain the latest information about their software from the new
Application Catalog for the Windows 2000 Web site. This catalog, available with
the release of beta 3 later this month, is part of the previously announced Windows
2000 Readiness Program for Applications and Developers and will be found at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/ready/.
"We view the move to Windows 2000 as the cornerstone
of our efforts to reduce the cost of enterprise computing," said Henry Nash, global
head of IT Engineering at Credit Suisse First Boston. "Applications that adhere
to the Application Specification are an indispensable component of this effort.
We have been providing input into the creation of the specification, and we believe
applications that adhere to it will be much easier to manage. We plan to incorporate
compliance with this specification into our purchase criteria for new applications
and will make it a part of our internal application development guidelines. We
sincerely hope that application vendors will embrace these standards and that,
along with Microsoft, we can work together to substantially reduce the costs involved
in installing and maintaining applications."
The catalog will be the definitive source for information
on Windows 2000-based applications including product descriptions, the level of
the product's compatibility with Windows 2000, links to company Web sites, and
any available support information.
Customers will be able to see the status of their applications
based on the following three levels of ISV commitment:
- Windows 2000 "Ready" indicates that the product
has been tested to ensure compatibility with the Windows 2000 platform.
- Windows 2000 "Gold" indicates that the product
has been tested by an independent testing organization to take advantage of key
features in Windows 2000, as defined by the Microsoft Windows 2000-based Application
Specification.
- Windows 2000 "Planned/Ready" or "Planned/Gold"
indicates that the product is intended to achieve one of the levels listed above,
once the product is fully tested.
Applications Designed for Windows 2000
Applications optimized for Windows 2000, as defined
by the Microsoft Windows 2000-based Application Specification, will deliver greater
reliability than ever before.
"Visio 2000, the next generation of the Visio product
family, utilizes the technological enhancements in Windows 2000 to provide incremental
benefits for our users," said Peter Mullen, vice president and general manager
of the Business Products Group at Visio. "For our corporate customers, the Windows
2000 Installer Technology, within Visio 2000, will simplify the application deployment
and upgrade process and provide administrators with a powerful tool with which
to manage their environments. The on-demand installation capability and dynamic
repair feature will ensure that Visio 2000 is always available and operational
exactly as users need it."
The applications for Windows 2000 Professional and Windows
2000 Server provide numerous benefits to help ensure reliability and availability
to customers running applications on the Windows 2000 platform:
- Easier software deployment and management for organizations
- The ability of network administrators to run applications

In his new role at MediaPhonics Corporation, David's

and the overall operations of the North American company.
Mr. McGillivray, age 36, reports to Frederic-James Gentizon,
President & CEO of MediaPhonics SA, brings to the company a strong operational
background in sales and marketing with more than 15 years experience in the computer
and telephony industries.
"We're very excited to add David to our management team,"
said James Gentizon, MediaPhonics' President and CEO. "His proven ability to build

growing, technology-intensive environment will be extremely valuable to the overall
development of our corporation."
"The US group that David will develop is chartered with
expanding our strategic relationships with our customers, the US investment community
and CT industry. This group will represent a critical function to the future success
of our company."
Prior to joining MediaPhonics, David held various senior
management positions at Natural MicroSystems, (NASDAQ; NMSS) where he was a key
contributor in building the sales and marketing organization, primarily in the
area of strategic alliances and partnerships. Most recently he served as the ector
of Business Development.
During his 10 years at Natural MicroSystems, the company
grew from a small start -up to a worldwide leader in the computer telephony industry
with over 350 employees. The company has partnerships with global technology suppliers
such as Comverse, Lucent, Siemens, Motorola and Microsoft.
Before joining Natural MicroSystems, David worked for
Leading Edge Corporation, a provider of PC hardware and software products where
he held management positions in their PC group. Mr. McGillivray also holds a BA
in Economics. " Mediaphonics offers an unique approach to the traditional problems
of computer and internet telephony solutions" said McGillivray, "their leverage
of Microsoft and Intel standards has bridged the gap between computer and telephone
environments that is currently litter with multiply standards from smaller groups.

for your average computer user."
About MediaPhonics:
MediaPhonics is the leading provider of desktop CTI
(Computer and Telephony Integration) personal productivity solutions. It designs
and markets award winning hardware, firmware and software CTI technology and products
for personal productivity computer telephony applications. MediaPhonics has signed
partnerships with industry players such as Microsoft, Intel, Analog Devices, Telindus
and Lernout & Hauspie.
MediaPhonics' technology provides a tight integration
between a regular telephone and a PC. It enables your computer to power
your telephone and any telephone anywhere to control your PC. This core
technology is middleware using and controlling the power of DSP (Digital
Signal Processor). MediaPhonics' CyberDesk, is a personal communication assistant.
It enables office workers and "road warriors" to access and process
their voice, e-mail and faxes while away from the office. In addition, it makes
the office telephone more flexible and powerful through the unique integration
with the desktop PC.
MediaPhonics has dual headquarters in Dallas, TX and
in Switzerland.
PhoneRider CyberDesk
- a revolutionary personal CTI desktop solution -receives another "Best of Show"
award
DALLAS, Texas / Bevaix, Switzerland - June 17,
1998 - MediaPhonics has announced that its leading edge computer messaging
solution for road warriors - PhoneRider CyberDesk - was given
the prestigious "Best of Show" award at CTI EXPO, Baltimore, USA. This solution,
which consists of the PhoneRider telephony board and CyberDesk application software,
provides advanced messaging services to desktop PCs and also extends all the functionality
into the field for use on regular or mobile phones. For example, road warriors
can not only hear their e-mails but also "reply to author" using a telephone.
The spoken reply is converted into an audio file that is attached to the e-mail
and this is transmitted according to the instructions given by the recipient.
In addition, the PC can automatically forward all calls received at the desktop
to a designated telephone number. If calls are not answered they default to voice
mail.
PhoneRider CyberDesk therefore provides unified messaging
at the desktop (e-mail, voice mail and faxes) and becomes a virtual messaging
assistant when users are on the move. Thus, there is no longer any need to carry
a notebook PC or PDA when the user requirement is for a fully featured messaging
solution. All that is needed is just a phone.
The advanced functionality provided by the MediaPhonics
solution is, as far as the company is aware, still unique and it derives from
the custom-designed PhoneRider CT board. This product, which has also won various
awards, was designed from the chip level up in order to eliminate the limitations
of conventional modems and most importantly, adds a super-set of telephony and
voice processing features.
CyberDesk is MAPI compliant and is integrated with MS-Exchange.
The client (or stand-alone) version of MS-Exchange is located on the desktop running
under Windows 95. When the solution is employed on a network, the MS-Exchange
server will normally run on a Windows NT server with clients on each of the PCs
in the network. The MediaPhonics solution is therefore ideal for both stand-alone
platforms as well as networks of any size. As a stand-alone solution the board
will normally connect ectly to the public network; when in a network configuration
PhoneRider connects to a PBX or key system.
PhoneRider CyberDesk is available today through major
retail outlets, VARS and Interconnect companies at an affordable user cost of
$299.

L&H
to Speech-Enable MediaPhonic's PhoneRider CyberDesk
Product
for Remote, Real-Time Access to E-Mail, Voice Mail, Fax
LOS
ANGELES, Calif. - March 3, 1998 - Lernout &
Hauspie Speech Products (L&H) (NASDAQ: LHSPF; EASDAQ: LHSP.ED) announced today
at the Computer Telephony Expo here in Los Angeles that MediaPhonics has licensed
its Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology to speech-enable their product, PhoneRider
CyberDesk. PhoneRider CyberDesk is a desktop-based computer telephony integrated
solution that allows users to remotely access and manage MS Exchange unified e-mail,
voice mail and fax from any telephone, in real time. This agreement signed by
L&H addresses the growing telephony market and is evidence of the increasing
importance of speech technology in computer telephony applications.
PhoneRider CyberDesk,
first announced at Comdex last Fall, is an ideal solution for business users who
are required to spend significant time away from the office and need to remain
connected. It is an example of how speech technology is beginning to revolutionize
business communications in a variety of markets. Using speech technology, the
product can "read" up-to-the-minute e-mails and faxes to users, via any
telephone.
"We are delighted to work
with MediaPhonics to provide the speech technology for PhoneRider CyberDesk. The
product provides a breakthrough offering for desktop users," said Jerry Calabrese,
president of L&H's Core Technology Division. "This agreement also strengthens
L&H's technology offerings in the burgeoning telephony market, where speech
technology will have a dramatic impact over the coming months. The inclusion of
L&H technology in Mediaphonic's product expands our position in this critical
market."
"This agreement combines
the best of computer telephony integration and speech technology, allowing users
to remotely access and control their voice-enabled PC with a simple telephone
call," said Frederic James Gentizon, MediaPhonics president and chief executive
officer. "With PhoneRider CyberDesk, the user's PC becomes humanized -
it calls cellular phones to read e-mail and faxes and to play voice mail."
Key Features
PhoneRider CyberDesk,
incorporating L&H's speech technologies, offers users several key features
for staying connected. These features clearly demonstrate the advantages of speech
recognition and speech-enabling technology in a telephony solution, and include:
- Remote
Access to Unified Messaging: Any telephone can
provide access to all forms of messaging, including voice mail, e-mail and faxes.
Users can call the PhoneRider CyberDesk-equipped PC to have it play recorded voice
mail, read e-mail using L&H TTS conversion and read incoming fax headers.
- Remote
Voice Reply: PhoneRider CyberDesk lets users reply
to an incoming e-mail with a voice mail message. The original sender receives
a message containing a wave file that is played on their PC when double-clicked.
- Remote
Forwarding: Users can call the PhoneRider CyberDesk-equipped
PC to request that all or a select number of e-mails and faxes are forwarded to
any fax machine.
- One
Number Follow Me: PhoneRider
CyberDesk, using L&H TTS as an auto-attendant, transfers all incoming calls
to any internal or external phone number through a PBX or Centrex system.
PhoneRider CyberDesk
is available today through major retail outlets, VARs and Interconnect companies.
