TPU is replacing materials such as vinyl and rubber in many markets because of its outstanding abrasion resistance, low-temperature flexibility, UV stability, elongation, tensile strength, and moisture resistance. The basic grades of TPU are:
Polyester: excellent abrasion resistance, low MVTR (moisture vapor transmission rate), and good chemical resistance.
Polyether: high MVTR, good fungal resistance, and will not degrade in humid environments.
Aliphatic: very good clarity and non-yellowing. Often used to protect the surface of vehicles and signs from weathering.
