CitraTest APM is used for monitoring Terminal Server-hosted applications which are accessed via a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection. ‘Terminal Services’ is now also known as ‘Remote Desktop Services’. RDP monitoring for such applications ensures that applications are available, responsive and their performance is up to the mark. In case there is a problem in the RDP-accessed applications, CitraTest APM generates a
real time alert, which enables the IT professionals to correct the error before end users are affected.

For RDP monitoring, CitraTest APM periodically executes synthetic transactions, taking response time measurements along the way. By automating the driving of an application just like a real user, CitraTest APM can test whether all critical aspects of an application are available and working within limits. How does CitraTest APM monitor and support all RDP-accessed applications?
CitraTest APM visually examines the desktop, responds to changes and uses the keyboard and mouse just like a real user does. CitraTest APM utilizes an advanced proprietary image recognition system to replicate the actions of an actual user in terms of visually analyzing every aspect of the desktop. Just like a user, CitraTest APM does not need to ‘see’ an image in exactly the same location each time.
