ASL will introduce new software to help analyze point of gaze and eye movements for participants viewing moving video or physically moving objects

“ASL Announces New Partnership with Mangold International”

Bedford, Massachusetts, USA – Applied Science Laboratories (ASL) entered into a very exciting partnership with Mangold International, a provider of powerful software designed for the qualitative analysis of video, sound and many other data sources.  ASL shares Mangold’s passion and mission, namely, the firm commitment to bring tomorrow’s solutions to our customers today.

ASL has long recognized the need for streamlining the eye tracking data analysis process with respect to participants either viewing moving video or physically moving in both indoor and outdoor environments.  In the past, a very slow and methodical frame by frame visual analysis was the only way to capture any meaningful data.  ASL realizes that the painstaking process of looking for gaze crosshairs superimposed on videos or objects in the environment to yield useful qualitative data could be so daunting a task that researchers would opt not to pursue some potentially interesting research.

In making the announcement, Virginia Salem, Customer Relations at ASL said, “We are very excited to bring Mangold’s INTERACT software to the world of eye tracking research.  This software is versatile, easy to use and will save our customers hundreds of data analysis man hours”.

Pascal Mangold, the founder of Mangold International, is convinced of the success of this new product.   “The joint solution created by partnering with ASL revolutionizes the way researchers will use mobile eye tracking!  Our software suite INTERACT is the perfect match for this remarkable eye tracker.“

Mangold International’s INTERACT 8 software addresses the single most compelling concern eye tracking researchers have voiced regarding studies involving moving video or moving participants, how best to collect and analyze a large volume of qualitative data.

INTERACT 8 is currently the only fully integrated, customizable, easy to use tool for analyzing video, audio, eye tracker or any other sensor data.  The advantages to eye tracking research are significant.   Below is a small sample of features:

  • Convenient, live coding can be done with or without several video stimuli
  • Flexible- events such as eye point of gaze location can be grouped into data sets
  • Findings can be expressed as statistics, visualizations and/or charts
  • Data can be converted and exported to any other software program
  • Coding schemes can easily be changed to yield different outputs and then returned to the original parameters with the click of a mouse

Applied Science Laboratories has been a pioneer in the examination of human eye movements and pupil dynamics for over 30 years. ASL was the first company to develop a head-mounted eye tracker, eye/head integration, parallax-free optics, and many other features that have become industry standard.  For more information, visit www.asleyetracking.com or contact the company at 175 Middlesex Turnpike, Bedford, Massachusetts, 01730 USA, Tel.
