SBCA and Keystone Career Institute Team Up to Offer Residential Certification Classes

Washington, D.C., November 16, 2005 -- The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) today announced that it has partnered with Keystone Career Institute (KCI) in central Pennsylvania to incorporate SBCA’s National Standards and Testing Program (NSTP) Residential Installation Certification course into Keystone’s curriculum.

Keystone Career Institute currently offers a state-approved course entitled, “Digital Systems Technician Certification.” This course teaches satellite antenna installation based on SBCA standards and testing as well as home theater installation and broadband DSL and cable modem installation. Guy Partin, creator and primary instructor for the KCI course, developed the five-week evening program to address a need for installation standardization in an effort to produce a higher quality home electronics installer. It will soon be available throughout Pennsylvania.

“SBCA is pleased to have KCI as a partner offering the satellite industry’s certification program,” said SBCA Acting Executive Director Alex Breckon. “SBCA is working with its members to develop partnerships with regional technical colleges throughout the country as they provide a great avenue for our members to hire qualified technicians,” Breckon said.
