SBCA Adds Vice President of Training and Technology

Alexandria, Va., Oct. 20, 2004 – The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) today announced Steven Hill as vice president for training and technology. Hill brings 20 years of experience to SBCA with over nine years focused on the satellite services industry.
 
“SBCA is thrilled to have Steve on board,” said Richard DalBello, president SBCA. “Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enhance all areas of SBCA from education to government relations and policy.”

Starting immediately, Hill will oversee many aspects of SBCA’s education and National Standards and Testing Program (NSTP). His focus will be on expanding and developing the current education and training programs and creating new programs in broadband and trouble-shooting. Hill will instruct on-site education and training around the country for SBCA and will serve as the coordinator for SBCA’s Technology Council.  
 
In addition, Hill will use his technical background to support other departments at SBCA. He will work with the government relations team to identify and explore tech related policy issues and advise staff and government officials of the satellite services industry’s technical capabilities and challenges. He will also aid SBCA’s communications department in providing a “Tech Talk” section to The Retailer Connection, SBCA’s bi-monthly newsletter for the Association’s retail members. This section will provide valuable technical advice and information for retailers.
 
Hill’s experience includes sales, training, and customer relations management as well as broad technical knowledge of the satellite industry. Hill most recently served as director of quality assurance at Pegasus Communications. There, he ran the installation and quality assurance program and was responsible for ensuring all techs adhered to the highest standards and practices designed to ensure total customer satisfaction.
 
Hill is a graduate of Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. He and his wife Christy have two children.
