Alexandria, Va., Sept. 1, 2004 – The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) today announced a line-up of executives participating in its discussion panels at the Digital Hollywood conference in Santa Monica, Calif. The conference takes place at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel Sept. 27-29.

At Digital Hollywood, SBCA will introduce the results of its 2004 Competitive Market Analysis and host a related track entitled Competition for the Digital Consumer. SBCA’s luncheon and dialogue will take place Tuesday, Sept. 28 from noon until 2pm, the first panel will concentrate on the 18-34 demographic and the second panel will discuss serving diverse markets.

“With over 23 million subscribers and combined annual revenues exceeding $13 billion, the satellite television industry continues to grow as a critical and influential component of the entertainment marketplace,” said Richard DalBello, president SBCA. “SBCA is thrilled to promote the strength of our industry at this well-known entertainment focused conference.”

The 18-34 Demographic: A Fountain of Profits? examines the programming behaviors, advertising appeal, and early adoption of new technologies by the heavily sought after 18-34 consumer demographic. Executives from Turner Network, MTV Networks, ESPN, and The DIRECTV Group, Inc. will discuss what they are doing in the multi-channel video marketplace to acquire and keep these viewers and subscribers.

Serving Diverse Markets: Comparing Satellite to the Competition will highlight multicultural program offerings by satellite service providers. Executives from BET, The DIRECTV Group, EchoStar Communications Corp., GlobeCast America, and SiTV will explore the subscriber trends in the diverse marketplaces and investigate how critical these markets are to future growth.
