ROBERT UDOWITZ JOINS SBCA AS DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

ALEXANDRIA, VA, February 11, 2003 – The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) announced today that Robert Udowitz has joined the SBCA as director of communications.  Mr. Udowitz will serve as SBCA’s primary spokesperson and will oversee all communications activities for the association.  He will report directly to SBCA President Andy Wright.

“With more than 15 years of public relations and marketing experience, Robert will promote the dynamic growth of the satellite broadcasting industry within its ranks and to all consumers seeking a better choice in broadcasting,” said SBCA President Andy Wright.  “I am pleased to have him become a part of the growing satellite consumer services industry.”

Prior to joining SBCA, Mr. Udowitz served as the corporate public relations manager for American Management Systems (AMS), an international business and IT consulting and software company based in Fairfax, Virginia.  Before his tenure at AMS, Mr. Udowitz was with the Washington D.C. offices of public relations firms Fleishman-Hillard and Powell Tate.  Before moving to Washington he began his career in Manhattan.

Mr. Udowitz holds a BA in Communications from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. He is a founding member of the Tech Communicators Forum, a committee of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
