SBCA ADDS SES AMERICOM AS A NEW EXECUTIVE MEMBER

ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 19, 2002 – The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) announced today that SES AMERICOM has become an executive member company.

“We are excited that SES AMERICOM has joined the SBCA,” said SBCA President Andy Wright.  “The fact that a prominent company like SES AMERICOM is expanding its current fleet offerings with a serious bid to enter the U.S. residential satellite video and broadband markets is further evidence the market is vibrant and growing.  As the voice of the entire satellite services industry, we look forward to working closely with Dean Olmstead, AMERICOM’s President and CEO, and his colleagues.  As our industry continues to grow and expand its products and services, it will be beneficial to have a company like SES AMERICOM working with SBCA to represent and protect the interests of our members and to expand opportunities for American consumers.”

“We look forward to bringing a new competitive platform into the domestic DBS marketplace, and we are eager to get involved with the SBCA,” said President and CEO of SES AMERICOM, Dean Olmstead.  “The SBCA fights hard for the consumer satellite services industry, and as we develop our AMERICOM2Home™ plan, we look forward to working closely with them on industry initiatives.”

In addition to joining the SBCA Board of Directors, Dean Olmstead will be interviewed during the SBCA’s upcoming SkyFORUM West Satellite Financial Symposium.  The SBCA and its SkyTRENDS partners will hold SkyFORUM West on Aug. 27, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA.  The half-day event will be held in conjunction with the International Satellite and Communications Exchange Conference and Expo (ISCe), which runs from Aug. 27-29, and will bring together leading industry executives, market analysts and the media to discuss the future of the satellite services industry.
