NEWSWEEK.COM’S MICHAEL ROGERS TO ADDRESS SkyFORUM SATELLITE SYMPOSIUM APRIL 6 IN NEW YORK CITY

ALEXANDRIA, VA, March 31, 1999 - The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) and SkyTRENDS today announced that Michael Rogers, editor and general manager of Newsweek.com and a contributing editor for Newsweek, will provide the luncheon address at the 11th semi-annual SkyFORUM satellite/ financial symposium, to be held Tuesday, April 6 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Mr. Rogers will deliver his speech at 12:45 p.m.

"With nearly 20 years of experience covering technology and the future for Newsweek and other leading publications, Michael Rogers can offer SkyFORUM attendees a unique perspective on our continuously changing and evolving industry," noted SBCA President Chuck Hewitt. "We are pleased to welcome him to our event."

Mr. Rogers also serves as vice president of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, the electronic publishing subsidiary of The Washington Post Company. Previously, he was a writer for Newsweek and Rolling Stone and a founding editor of Outside magazine. At Newsweek, he launched and then wrote the Technology section for 10 years. He has won numerous journalism awards, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science Distinguished Science Writing Award and the Computer Press Association Award.

The semi-annual SkyFORUM satellite/ financial symposium will be held Tuesday, April 6 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The program runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and includes one-on-one interviews with satellite industry executives: EchoStar Communications Corp.
