Our years
of experience with students at all levels and from countries all
over the world have allowed ELC to develop teaching techniques
and programs that really work. In addition, our 10-level placement
system allows us to place students into different levels in different
classes or skill areas. Careful placement and program selection
ensure that you will be studying English in the learning environment
that is best for you.
General

At
ELC you will enjoy instructors who are professional and experienced
teachers of English as a Second Language. All ELC instructors
hold university degrees, and most have received advanced degrees
in Teaching English as a Second Language or a related field.
Many of our instructors have overseas teaching experience
as well, which gives them a unique insight into different
cultures and ways of life. |

This
full time, 30-lesson per week, program is ELC's most popular
and covers all of the major language skills including grammar,
vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, listening comprehension,
reading and writing. Students in our high intermediate and
advanced levels also have a choice of electives two afternoons
per week. Students in the Intensive English Program study
Monday through Friday during sections A, B, and C (please
refer to the General Course Schedule).

Also
one of ELC’s most popular programs, this 20-lesson per week
course is designed to improve communication skills and is
perfect for students who want to study English in the morning
and take advantage of ELC’s beautiful cities in the afternoon.
Students in the Semi-Intensive English Program study Monday
through Friday during sections A and B.

This
program is for any student, absolute beginning to near fluent,
who would like to study on a one-to-one basis. Although
students usually study in the morning (Sections A and B),
we are happy to work with you to create a meeting schedule
that fits your needs. The personally designed course of
study is based on an Individual Program Questionnaire that
students are asked to complete prior to the start of their
course. This individualized curriculum means you can focus
on the area of English where you need the most work or that
you are most interested in studying.

This
program is designed for students who wish to combine group
work in General English with individualized work in any
area of English they desire. The Combination Course is perfect
for the student who would like to work on improving a very
specific skill such as business English, legal English or
medical English. Students in the Combination Course study
General English in the morning (during sections A and B)
and have private lessons in the afternoon (during section
C).

The
Part-Time Program is designed for students who do not require
a student visa or housing assistance. This program is for
students with limited time for studying English and can
enroll for only one period per day (Section A or B or C).
Part-Time

for people living in the U.S. with only a limited time
available each day for language study
