This full-time program is offered year round to high intermediate and advanced students. The TOEFL Preparation course combines 20 lessons of general English in the morning (sections A and B) with 10 lessons in the afternoon focusing on preparing for the TOEFL examination and academic skills. Also included in the program are test-taking strategies, test taking practice and skill building in all areas covered by the TOEFL examination. Students are trained to take both the computer based TOEFL and the written TOEFL. Maximum class size is 12.

Institutional TOEFL exam offered every month at all ELC centers

The TOEIC Preparation course combines 20 lessons of general English in the morning (sections A and B) with 10 one-to-one lessons in the afternoon focusing on preparing for the TOEIC examination. Included in the program are test-taking strategies, test taking practice and skill building in all areas covered by the TOEIC examination. Students enrolled in the TOEIC Preparation Program take the TOEIC examination at the end of the course at no additional charge.

ELC offers full time, 11-week preparation courses for the Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). The FCE is the most widely recognized proof of language ability at the upper-intermediate level. The CAE has tremendous popularity as an assessment of advanced abilities. Students in the FCE and CAE Preparation Courses focus not only on passing the final examination, but also on improving their general accuracy and fluency in English. FCE and CAE Preparation are closed courses; only students preparing for a Cambridge exam are in the class. Students must pass a pre-test in order to participate in either the FCE or CAE programs. The maximum class size is 12 and the course price includes all exam fees. ELC Boston and ELC Santa Barbara are proud to be official Cambridge testing centers. Students studying at ELC Los Angeles will take the examinations at a nearby location.
