Helpful Tips
Here are some suggestions to help you make the most of your evening at Hamersley's Bistro and some explanations of our policies.

Weekend Reservations: People have busy lives, and as everyone coordinates with friends and finds a babysitter, our prime weekend seatings can get booked weeks in advance. We apologize if we're unable to give you your first choice of reservations. You can still make spur of the moment plans- we do get cancellations, and it is always worthwhile to call that day to see if we have anything available.

Weeknight Dining: If you have the flexibility in your schedule, please visit us on a weeknight! As with all restaurants, we may be able to accommodate your first choice dining time on these nights. We also welcome walk-ins, especially during the week, with tables set aside just for our spontaneous friends in the small dining room, out on the patio, or a handful of nearby tables in the bar.

Valet Parking: We offer valet parking as a convenience for our diners. However, we do not own the valet company and do not supervise the employees. Please help us maintain a good relationship with our neighborhood and with the law by not parking in South End resident spaces. Also, please collect your car promptly after dinner- cars left in the valet zone are ticketed by the police.

Liquor Policies: Massachusetts has some very strict laws regulating the serving of alcohol. Because of these policies, it is against the law for our guests to bring their own wine. We are also unable to serve only drinks to guests on our patio- we are required to also serve some type of food. This is why Gordon has designed a delicious selection of light appetizers, which he invites you to try with a glass of wine for a casual happy hour on the patio.

Cake!: We love birthdays, and especially birthday cakes! Our pastry chef is happy to make you a personalized cake for the birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion being celebrated. Please give us at least 48 hours notice.

Food Allergies: We realize that in our health-conscious society, many people have special dietary needs and food allergies. We would like to accommodate your needs, and the more advance notice you can give us, the better. Please mention your requirements to the host when making your reservation.

Private Parties: Bring the Hamersley's experience to your next private party and let us do all the work. Our small dining room is an ideal meeting spot for up to twenty people, whether it's for a business dinner, wedding celebration, or a gathering of friends. We will work with you to develop a personalized menu and specially chosen wines to delight your guests. For the ultimate special event, the whole restaurant is available. Sophia or Tiffany can provide details- please give them a call at 423-2700.
