Wine is fun! At Hamersley's, we
hope that our customers feel comfortable experimenting and trying
new things from our carefully chosen wine list. In order to help
you navigate, we suggest that you ask your waiter's advice and
try some of our offerings by the glass. You'll also find that
we have an unusual amount of half bottles- more than twenty red,
white and sparkling
wines. These smaller bottles contain about two and a half glasses,
which allows diners to have a sample of something that catches
their eye without making a big commitment. It's also the perfect
amount for a party of two that would like a light white for an
apertif before moving on to something more complex with dinner.
People have very individual tastes in wine as well, and a half
bottle lets one person enjoy their beloved Gewürztraminer
while another can stick with Chardonnay. As an interesting side
note, wines in half bottles tend to mature more quickly than full
bottles, so a half bottle of a recent Bordeaux may be more drinkable
than its big brother.

Some of the wines on the wine list
get changed every couple of months according to the seasons, whether
the vintage has changed, if the wine is no longer available or
whether we simply want to put something new on. It is possible
that this wine list on our website may not be completely identical
to the one in the restaurant. If there is a particular wine on
the list you want to drink with your dinner, please call us when
you make your dinner rservation to confirm that is still available.
