VBR Series Microwave Video Receiver
Overview
The VBR series of microwave video receivers offer many
advanced features while maintaining operator ease of
use. Up to ten video channels are user programmable,
with two user programmable audio sub-carriers on each
channel. A rotary switch is used to field select each
channel.
Received signal strength is available via an LED display
on the front panel, as an analog value on a dedicated
pin on the multi-I/O connector, or as part of the serial
data string. No matter how you intend to use or mount
the receiver, your critical RSSI readout is always available.
When remotely mounted, the LED display may be disabled,
saving current drain on your power source.
Encryption is available as an option, using an Ovation
Micro™ Viewlock II module mounted internally in
the unit. A clear/scrambled switch is accessible on
the front panel.
Two video and two audio outputs are provided. Video
1 is designed as your primary video output, and may
be connected to a monitor and/or recorder. Video 2 provides
a composite video output, including the embedded audio
subcarriers, and is ideal for repeater operation.
The chassis is constructed of rugged milled aluminum.
All connections and controls are labeled on the top,
front and bottom of the chassis, easily readable regardless
of the mounting configuration.
DTC-Vortex™
Open Frame Receiver
L Band, S Band VFOF-1000 Series
DTC’s Vortex™ Open Frame series of video
receivers was designed specifically for users who want
to embed a video receiver into another device, such
as a concealment or briefcase system. Applications include
covert surveillance, Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE),
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) downlinks, and Unmanned
Ground Vehicle (UGV) and robot Operator Control Units
(OCU’s). The Vortex™ Open Frame series is
a board level receiver, without the weight and cost
of a rugged aluminum enclosure. Connections to the unit
have been simplified, with all connections except the
RF connector utilizing a locking, miniature MTA connector
strip. The RF connector remains a standard SMA connector.
The Vortex™ series offer superior video performance
and complete user programmability. Up to ten user programmable
video frequencies may be selected. Each video frequency
has two user programmable audio subcarriers as well
DTC-Vortex™
Miniature Video Receiver
L Band, S Band VFRX-1000 Series
DTC’s Vortex™ series of video receivers
offer superior video performance and complete user programmability.
Up to ten user preprogrammed video frequencies may be
selected via a rotary switch. The audio subcarriers
are phase locked, and will not drift over time or temperature.
Two video outputs are provided, one composite and one
video only. The composite video output is ideal for
retransmission. The video only output is typically connected
to either a local monitor and/or recording device.
Features
- Ten user programmable video channels and two audio
subcarriers per channel
- Audio subcarriers may be used to receive data
- RSSI indication on front panel, as well as via
multipin connector
- Compact size of only 1.25” x 3” x 5.25”
- Current consumption of only 300ma at 12 VDC
- Internal encryption option
- Ability to disable RSSI to reduce current consumption
- All connectors accessible via front panel
- Programming software and cable included
DTC-Vortex™ Diversity
Open Frame Receiver
L Band, S Band VFOF-1000 Series
DTC’s Vortex™ Diversity Open Frame series
of video receivers offer superior video performance
in mobile environments by incorporating DTC’s
VideoVoter™ technology. A pair of receivers are
assembled as a board stack, each with its own antenna
input. The VideoVoter board looks at the output of each
receiver simultaneously, selecting and switching to
the best signal at over 15,000 times per second.
Two video outputs are provided, one composite and
one video only. The composite video output is ideal
for retransmission, as the audio subcarriers are embedded
in the signal. The video only output is typically connected
to either a local monitor and/or recording device. Two
audio outputs are provided.
Features
- Open Frame board level design reduces size, weight
and cost
- DTC proprietary VideoVoter diversity technology
- Automatically switches to best receiver at over
15,000 times per second
- Two receivers installed Ten user programmable video
channels and two audio subcarriers per channel
- Audio subcarriers may be used to receive data
- RSSI available as analog voltage or discrete value
- Locking MTA connectors for quick connect/ disconnect
- Internal encryption option
- Programming software and cable included
DTC-Vortex™
Diversity Video Receiver
L Band, S Band VFRX-1000 Series
DTC’s Vortex™ Diversity series of video
receivers offer superior video performance in mobile
environments by incorporating DTC’s VideoVoter™
technology. A pair of receivers are housed together,
each with its own antenna. The VideoVoter board looks
at the output of each receiver simultaneously, selecting
and switching to the best signal at over 15,000 times
per second. Up to ten user preprogrammed video frequencies
may be selected via a rotary switch. Each video frequency
has two user programmable audio subcarriers as well.
The audio subcarriers are phase locked, and will not
drift over time or temperature. User programming software
and a programming cable are provided with each unit.
Two video outputs are provided, one composite and one
video only. The composite video output is ideal for
retransmission, as the audio subcarriers are embedded
in the signal. The video only output is typically connected
to either a local monitor and/or recording device. Two
audio outputs connectors are provided. Received Signal
Strength Indication (RSSI) is available in three ways:
First, through a local bar graph display. The display
may be disabled after set up to conserve battery life.
Second, as an analog voltage on one pin of the multipin
connector. Third, through the serial communications
protocol supported via the multipin connector. This
is an ideal way to retrieve RSSI when the receiver is
embedded in other devices. Internal encryption using
the Ovation Micro™- Viewlock II module is supported
as an option. Encryption On/Off is selected from the
front panel.
Features
- DTC proprietary VideoVoter diversity technology
- Automatically switches to best receiver at over
- 15,000 times per second
- Two receivers installed
- Ten user programmable video and dual audio subcarrier
channels
- RSSI indication for each receiver on front panel,
as well as via multipin connector
- Programming software and cable included
