The evening was a great success, and scholarships were awarded to 83 students. The IUAAL Alumni Association manages trust funds out of which scholarships are awarded every year.

Over the years, the trust funds have grown significantly.

The INDEPENDENT UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION at LOWELL is an organization that is independent of the university and has a board elected by the alumni. It should not be confused with other alumni groups on campus.

The Scholarship Committee is chaired by George Duggan. Members of the Scholarship Committee who organized the event include Richard Donaldson, Walter Dawson and Mary Ann Kitrosser..
