A: 8K, 10K, 12K, 14K, 18K, 20K, 22K, & 24K gold and platinum jewelry such as rings, chains, bracelets, charms, earrings, pins, gold finger nails and dental gold.

A: Silver, watches, lockets, bangle bracelets or class rings that are not stamped are examples of items we may not purchase. If we can not determine the karat or metal content of a piece we may choose not to purchase it. This does not mean that the item is not real. It just means that we can not make a determination and choose not to take the risk of purchasing an item for which we may not be able to recover our costs.

A: Yes! We base our pricing on the current market value of gold on the day of your party. The price of gold changes by the minute, as does the rest of the stock market. Before we leave for your party, we use the current/closing market value to determine the amount we offer. We often pride ourselves by being able to offer the same (and often times more) for your gold than a jewelry store or pawn shop because we don’t have the overhead costs or inventory that they have.

A: No.  All guests will be paid the same amount, whether attending a party or requesting an individual appointment.

A: We pay in grams because our scales are certified by the Division of Standards for weights and measures in grams. There are more pennyweights per gram and more grams per troy ounce. The amount you are paid in U.S. Dollars is the same amount whether weighed in pennyweights, grams, or ounces. The price you see on the internet or in the newspaper is the price of 24 karat pure gold, based on the Troy Ounce. The higher the karat of gold, the softer it is. This is why most jewelry is made from 10k-18k rather than 24k, otherwise it is more likely to dent or break. The lower the karat of gold the less pure it is. Troy Ounces weigh more than the regular ounces we are familiar with. We break down the price of your gold by weight in grams and by karat. We are always happy to do any conversions for you.

A: If the stones are set on prongs and we are confident we can remove them without damaging the stone then we are happy to do this for you. We are not jewelers and can not be held responsible for any damage to any stones we remove. You are welcome to use our equipment to try and remove the stones yourself. We will buy the piece with the stones, but the price we offer is based solely on the value of the gold.

A: It will be refined and melted into gold bars.

A: No, we can not pay in cash for several reasons: First, we can not know in advance how much cash we would need because we can not know in advance how much gold we are going to purchase. Additionally, for safety reasons we do not want our representatives carrying large amounts of cash to your home. Furthermore, many laws and ordinances require that we pay by check so our transactions are traceable. We pay by business check and can provide multiple references upon request.

A: There is no particular day or night that works better than another. You can send an invitation via email using our GOLD to GREEN Party invites or an “evite” invitation. For best results, you should send your invites about 2 weeks before your party. Remember that only about 25% of the people you invite will attend, so don’t be afraid to over invite. We find that the parties that earn the most money usually have approximately 20 guests or more that sell gold. The best way to ensure a good turnout is to follow up with a personal phone call explaining the party concept and to let people know you need a head count in order to determine how many representatives will need to come to your home. Our representatives will arrive about 15-30 minutes prior to your party in order to set up our equipment. In order to keep things moving along, it is best to provide us with a kitchen size table, good lighting and access to an electrical outlet.

A: Yes. As is the case with any business there comes a point where your costs exceed your return on investment. We choose to reward hosts who generate a decent amount of gold at the party and exposure to a decent amount of guests that may consider hosting a party themselves thus generating future business for us. Essentially we pay Hostess Rewards in lieu of paying for advertising. In general a minimum of $1000.00 of gold must be sold at your party in order to qualify for the Hostess Rewards. Our Hostess Rewards may change from time to time so be sure to read our terms & conditions or contact us for more details.

A: Yes! A GOLD to GREEN Parties fundraiser is a great way to raise quick and easy money for your charity or organization! The organization receives a  donation equal to 15% of all the gold purchased at the party and the attendees get to leave with money instead of feeling obligated to spend it! Best of all, the amount we donate does affect the amount your guests are paid for their gold.

A: GOLD to GREEN Parties follows all rules and regulations according to the IRS. You will not receive a 1099 for the sale of gold however, the IRS does require that rewards totaling $600.00 or more (cumulative within a calendar year) be reported as income. As a host or a referral source you may be issued a 1099 and may be required to report your earnings. Please seek advice from your accountant.

A: GOLD to GREEN Parties are social events for fun or charity that allow attendees to sell their unwanted gold items to a reputable dealer and at a fair price. They are a great way to socialize with your friends and family and sell your unwanted gold in a safe and convenient environment with people you know. We don’t barter like a jewelry store or pawn shop! We pay the same price per weight and karat to all of your guests and there is never any pressure to sell. As a host, you earn money while your guests earn money… It’s a win/win for everyone!
