History
EGS Gauging began its long history of Industry firsts in 1948 when, as Tracerlab, we introduced the world's first beta gauge. By the 1950s and 1960s, we were well on our way to becoming one of the industry's largest providers of measurement and control solutions. Known as LFE Corporation, we launched the first computer-based gauging system, outside of the paper industry, then went on to develop Exact Spot and True Net Coat measurement algorithms for coating applications.

Through the 1980s and 1990s, more technological innovations followed:
	The first network and PC-based measurement and control system;
	The first scanning on-line spectrophotometer for multi-layer discrimination;
	Workstation-based design utilizes leading edge technology for processing, graphics and communications
	The highest accuracy thin film sensor in the industry
