Our
founders, Cleo and Boomer, are two very hard to please Jack Russell
Terriers. Their home life was a mess as their parents would travel
extensively, leaving them in the care of a random array of house sitters,
kennels, dog walkers, friends and relatives. Finally, they had had
it -- Boomer insisted on eating a mattress, and Cleo took matters
into her own hands by running away for a day or two (she got around
in those days, which is how Boomer came to be in the first place!).
Finally they decided to take matters into their own hands, and had
their owners start a pet service that would cater to these special
dogs' needs. It had to be 1) professional, 2) always available, and
3) consistent.
What emerged from this idea is now DoggieDay Pet Service,
serving almost 1000 clients in the Boston Metro Area and the city of
San Francisco. Our staff does over 150 visits per day to make sure
dogs are walked, cats are fed, and the cages of many small animals
are cleaned. We also make sure mail is collected, lights are turned
on, and curtains are opened and closed while our clients are away
from home. When Boomer and Cleo had enough of Boston weather, they
suggested we open a California service. That has led to us developing
a franchise opportunity that will allow DoggieDay to serve the needs
of pets across the U.S. who feel the same as Boomer and Cleo.
