We
know that bringing someone into your home to care for a member of
the family is an important step and you will have many questions.
Here are some of the questions that we get most often, that will help
you understand us a little better. Please feel free to call us with
any additional questions that might not be answered here by clicking on the questions expand link.
I already have a pet service provider
- why should I switch to DoggieDay?
+ Expand
DoggieDay is a professional pet service organization.
As such, we employ people who are all proficient at caring for your
pet. While many pet service providers are capable, responsible individuals,
they often cannot offer you services 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
With DoggieDay, you never have to worry about your schedule being
in conflict with ours!
What is the process for becoming
a DoggieDay client?
+ Expand
All new clients must schedule an interview before becoming
a DoggieDay client. The purpose of the interview is to gather information
about your pet, his home, his personality and routine and to explain
in detail how we operate. We charge a $29.00 fee for standard membership
payable at the time of the interview to registration and activate
your account. The entire interview takes between 30 and 45 minutes
to complete. Membership is on an annual basis and fees will be due
on the anniversary of your initial registration.
What kind of insurance does DoggieDay
carry?
+ Expand
We carry bonding insurance on all of our employees as
well as a $1,000,000 umbrella liability policy. This is done through
our association with Pet Sitters International.
What kinds of payment does DoggieDay
accept?
+ Expand
We accept cash, check, and MasterCard, VISA, Discover
and American Express cards. We also are able to deliver all of our
invoices via e-mail and offer Paypal as well as the various credit
cards to pay your invoice on-line.
How far in advance do I need to
schedule services?
+ Expand
You can schedule services at any time. For Standard
members, we require a minimum of 72 hours to avoid a $5.00 "Immediate
need" fee. Premium members only need to give us 12 hours notice
in advance of the visit to avoid the late fee.
What is your cancellation policy?
+ Expand
For our standard membership plan, we require a 3 business
day advance notice to cancel an appointment and not be responsible
for the charge. This means that we must receive a cancellation by
Wednesday at 5:00 PM in order to refund the fee for a Monday appointment.
Our Premium membership requires 12 hour advance notification but is
not limited by business hours. Appointments cancelled after the cancellation
period are charged the full amount of the visit.
Will my dog be walked alone or
with other dogs?
+ Expand
This is one reason that we interview you and your dog
-- to find out what works best for your circumstance. If your dog
is good natured and willing to walk on leash with other dogs, she
may be walked with up to 3 other dogs. You may also request that he
or she be walked alone. There is a nominal additional charge for dogs
that are not well socialized and therefore require special treatment.
Where are playgroups conducted?
+ Expand
We use a variety of parks throughout our service areas
where your animals can be let off leash to play and interact with
other dogs. You DoggieDay representative will be able to give you
more information on the specific parks in your area during the registration
interview.
I can't take time off from work,
but my animal needs to go to the vet? Can DoggieDay help?
+ Expand
Yes! Our pet taxi can take your dog to the vet and bring
him home after the appointment. 24 hours notice is ideal, but in an
emergency we can make arrangements to accommodate your needs. If you
need someone to stay with the pet and get instructions, our well-trained
Pet Care Providers can meet with the doctor, obtain a written diagnosis,
and pick up any required medications.
