About Dav-Tech
Our corporate philosophy has always been founded and driven by four basic principles:
(1) HARD WORK BY A DEDICATED STAFF.
(2) ATOTAL COMMITMENT TO PLATING EXCELLENCE.
(3) IDENTIFYING THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF OUR CUSTOMER.
(4) QUALITY SOLUTIONS TO COMPLEX PROBLEMS.
All of these
qualities have made DAV-TECH a uniquely good value to our customers and earned
us the reputation for consistent quality.
At DAV-TECH no project is too complex. Our years of experience provide you,
our customer, with new, economical design and application approaches to previously
unresolved problems.
We also recognize that good value is the combination of both the cost and quality of the finished component. The quality issue at DAV-TECH is a systematic effort involving all levels of the administrative and processing functions. The procedures followed at DAV-TECH assure quality of the finished product, quality of the service and cost efficiencies far ahead of our competition.
We take great pride in our work and want to prove to you that quality, prompt delivery, application assistance and service are STATEMENTS OF FACT.
Give us the opportunity to serve you.
Links to what we do:
The
term electroless nickel plating refers to that process whereby a dense coating
of nickel-phosphorus alloy is uniformly deposited on a metallic substrate
without the use of electricity. The primary advantage of this process is its
perfect "throwing" power.
Unlike electrolytically deposited coatings ,deposits can be made on any surface
to which the solution has free access. In addition, the electroless coating
is extremely uniform and will not generate excessive buildup on corners or
projections.
Anodizing is an electrolytic process that produces a relatively inert coating on a metallic surface. When aluminum alloys are anodized, this coating is an aluminum oxide layer that is generated when the part is made anodic in the presence of a controlled electrolyte. It is the stability of the aluminum oxide that accounts for all of the protective properties of the coating.
DAV-TECH SPECIALIZES
IN ANODIC COATINGS ON ALUMINUM AND ALUMINUM ALLOYS:
At Dav-Tech Plating we offer two types of anodizing on aluminum. Each type
produces a product with its own specific performance qualities.
The first type is produced in a sulfuric acid bath, and is therefore referred
to as sulfuric acid anodize. This coating is usually transparent with a thickness
range of .0001"-.001".
When aluminum and aluminum alloys are immersed in a controlled chromic acid bath with additives, a chemical conversion reaction takes place at the surface of the metal. This reaction produces a complex , non-crystalline, non-porous coating consisting of a thin aluminum oxide film with entrapped chromates and dichromates. The corrosion resistant properties of the coating are primarily due to the chromates, specifically the hexavalent chromium.
Various chemical activators are used to enhance the formation of the coating. Depending upon the desired performance characteristics of the chromate film, the chromating bath is often modified by changing these activators.
Hardcoating, also called hard anodizing, is very similar to sulfuric acid anodizing in that it is a coating of aluminum oxide that is produced on the surface of an aluminum component in the presence of a sulfuric acid electrolyte. Compared to sulfuric acid anodizing, a hardcoating bath is usually run at lower temperatures, higher amperages, and higher voltages. The resultant coating is far superior to sulfuric acid or chromic acid anodizing in terms of wear and corrosion resistance. These properties can be enhanced by the use of sealants. Dav-Tech hardcoating can be processed to meet the challenges of specific wear and corrosion applications.
