installing kitchen cabinet
THE KITCHENWORKS REFACING PROCESS.
There are a couple of ways to install the wall cabinets. The
first way requires more time and quite a few procedures. The
second way requires the use of a new, patented tool designed
for installing kitchen wall cabinets quickly and easily.
The first method entails nailing a ledger board the full
length of the run of cabinets onto the wall to support each
cabinet as it is being installed. The installing ledger board
is usually a piece of 1 x 3 nailed to the wall at a height
of 54". Make sure the ledger board is level. You will
also need to remove the doors from the hinges to make installation
easier since you will only have one free hand to work with.
It is also a good idea to mark the ledger board, hold it up
against the wall with your left hand and fasten it to the
wall. Once the cabinets are fastened to the wall, reinstall
all the cabinet doors, remove the ledger board from the wall
without damaging the wall, fill the nail holes with joint
compound and paint the filled nailed holes.
The second method is to use a new, patented, kitchen installation
tool, the E-Z Spread n' Lift. When this tool is used it is
not necessary to remove and reinstall all the cabinet doors,
nail a ledger board to the wall or refill and paint over the
nail holes left in the wall. All that's necessary is to simply
set the height of the tool to 54", put it in place, lift
and place the cabinet on top of it, (the cabinet will be completely
supported by the tool leaving both hands free), place a level
on the cabinet, tilt the cabinet slightly to the left or right
to level it if the floor is not perfectly level and fasten
it to the wall. The tool has a 4" adjustment nut for
fine adjustments that you turn by hand to move the cabinet
up or down to the desired height. By installing using this
method, it takes a fraction of the time of the first method
to install kitchen wall cabinets. It's that easy.
