Architects and homeowners alike realize that hardware plays an
important design role, as well as a functional role, in any home.
Different home designs require different hardware styles, so people
need a wide selection of styles and finishes from which to choose.
Many manufacturers in our industry offer styled patio door
hardware, but window hardware often is overlooked, said Phil
Donaldson, director of marketing at Andersen. As a result,
there is a clash of hardware styles within the home.
That is why Andersen Windows, Inc. has such an expansive line of
window and patio door hardware. The Estate hardware line features
five different finishes, while the Metro line has two finishes.
Both lines are proprietary designs created by Andersen. Both lines
feature patio door hardware styles that complement window hardware,
providing homeowners with a consistent look and feel from one room
to the next. In addition, the distinctive lines provide greater
design and pricing flexibility.
Estate hardware evokes the traditional elegance found in old-world,
handcrafted moldings and other fine decorative wood products. This
line features high-performance bright brass, antique brass, and
polished chrome finishes, which are all available on the Andersen
400 Series line of windows and patio doors. Two additional Estate
finishes are only available with Andersen patio doors: brushed chrome
and oil-rubbed bronze finishes.
Metro hardware features contemporary, symmetrical shapes and smooth,
organic curves. Characterized by its soft, neutral look, Andersen
Metro hardware features white and stone finishes, and is available
on both 400 Series and 200 Series patio doors.
Optional Andersen patio door accessories such as exterior keyed
locks, auxiliary security lock (foot lock) and hinged door handle
extender also are available in all five Estate hardware finishes
and both Metro hardware finishes.
These hardware designs tie a builders or remodelers
entire fenestration package together with one distinctive Andersen
look traditional or contemporary in a variety of finishes
and colors, said Donaldson. The designs also enhance
the look, feel and beauty of Andersen windows and patio doors.
