Hammer Expands
Coverage by Adding Digital Set Emulation to it's Integrated Telecommunications
testing system, the Hammer IT
June, 25,
1996 -- Hammer Technologies today announced support of digital
phone sets
as part of the Hammer IT integrated telecommunications test system.
Digital Set Emulation extends the testing capabilities of the Hammer
IT to the many developers and users of PBX, ACD, Call Center and
other CTI applications that require digital telephone sets.
"The flexibility and ease of use that make the Hammer IT the
telecommunications test system of choice are now available to test
the broader set of applications that use digital phones" said
Lowell Lindstrom, Hammer IT Product Manager. "Expanding the
range of applications which the Hammer IT tests enhances its position
as the test system standard for all phases of the product life cycle."
Digital Set Emulation includes support for digital signaling protocols,
display information, dedicated function key access (transfer, drop,
recall, and hold), voice path access, and message waiting indicator
control. Each Hammer IT can support up to 48 digital sets. Initial
support is available for Nortel, AT&T, and ROLM PBXs with other
sets planned for the future. Integration of these features into
the existing Hammer IT test development environment makes it easier
to implement comprehensive test applications.
Founded in 1991, Hammer Technologies, a Teradyne Company, is the
pioneer of a new breed of telecom test systems designed for providers
of mission-critical voice and data telecommunications systems.
The Hammer comprehensively tests entire integrated telecom systems,
exposing hidden problems by simulating real-world users, measuring
and evaluating the responses, and taking intelligent actions. The
Hammer IT provides a single test solution for systems that incorporate
voice, data, T-1, E-1, ISDN, Wireless, PCS, TCP/IP, Speech Recognition,
and other related technologies.
Hammers are in use today by developers of computer-telephony, advanced
switching, and enhanced services systems, most of the Regional Bell
Operating Companies and long-distance carriers, and at call centers
of numerous Fortune 100 companies. Hammer is the only system that
provides a complete solution for load, feature, regression, and
in-service testing of integrated telecommunications systems and
services.
