Hammer ISG
Obsoletes Bulk Call Generators for Stress Testing Computer Telephony,
Advanced Switching and Enhanced Services Systems
June, 25,
1996 -- Hammer Technologies today announced the Hammer ISG (Integrated
Stress Generator) to meet the needs of load and stress testing
large computer telephony, advanced switching and enhanced services
systems. The Hammer ISG complements the industry leading capabilities
of its Hammer IT integrated telecommunications test system.
"Our customers have conclusively asked for a single feature
and stress testing environment for their new systems and applications.
The Hammer ISG provides the perfect complement to our Hammer IT
integrated telecommunications test system at the lower price per
port required for load and stress testing large systems," said
Steve Gladstone, Hammer General Manager.
According to Paul Hamburger, Hammer's VP of R&D, "the Hammer
ISG is much more intelligent than traditional bulk call generators.
It can dynamically generate stress that mimics the richness and
vitality of real world system usage. The ISG is based on the same
hardware and software architecture as the Hammer IT, uses the same
Visual Basic compatible test language and is fully upgradable. Hammer
ISG users will not be left behind as their technologies change or
applications become more complex. Options include patent pending
drag and drop automated test creation, an ODBC compatible database,
and other features.
Priced from $33,000, the Microsoft Windows NT based Hammer ISG includes
a 10/100MB Ethernet connection, and in addition to it's test facilities,
supports all standard Windows NT features. The initial Hammer ISG
release supports four T-1 circuits per unit and can generate or
receive over 90,000 Calls Per Hour, depending on the test application.
Future releases will incorporate E-1, ISDN and other interfaces.
The Hammer ISG can generate or receive calls, send or receive DTMF,
MF or user-defined tones, and detect various network events and
signaling. Up to 10 Hammer ISG or Hammer IT systems can be chained
together over Ethernet or serial connections.
Founded in 1991, Hammer Technologies, a Teradyne Company, is the
pioneer of a new breed of telecom test systems designed for providers
of mission-critical voice and data telecommunications systems. The
Hammer comprehensively tests entire integrated telecom systems,
exposing hidden problems by simulating real-world users, measuring
and evaluating the responses, and taking intelligent actions. The
Hammer IT provides a single test solution for system that incorporate
voice, data, T-1, E-1, ISDN, Wireless, PCS, TCP/IP, Speech Recognition,
and other related technologies.
Hammers are in use today by developers of computer-telephony, advanced
switching, and enhanced services systems, most of the Regional Bell
Operating Companies and long-distance carriers, and at call centers
of numerous Fortune 100 companies. Hammer is the only system that
provides a complete solution for load, feature, regression, and
in-service testing of integrated telecommunications systems and
services.
