Hammer Enhances
Interactive Multimedia and Data Communications Testing for it's
Integrated Telecommunications testing system, the Hammer IT
June, 25,
1996 -- Hammer Technologies today announced key new interactive
multimedia and data communication testing features for its Hammer
IT integrated telecommunications test system. These new features
will allow testing of products and services that incorporate Caller
ID, Analog Display Services Interface (ADSI), and Frequency Shift
Keying-based (FSK) wireless infrastructure technologies.
"Interactive multimedia features that involve both voice and
data communications transmission are becoming the cornerstone of
new telecommunications services, such as home banking, customized
call answering, and smart telephones. Now, for the first time, systems
and applications that incorporate these features can be completely
tested using the Hammer IT," said Steve Gladstone, General
Manager of Hammer Technologies.
The new Hammer IT test capabilities are based on flexible support
of FSK data transmission as a core part of Hammer's computer telephony
and enhanced services test architecture. This allows tests that
incorporate Caller ID, ADSI, and various wireless infrastructure
signaling used for base station authorization and call routing to
be easily created. FSK support will be included free of charge with
all appropriately equipped Hammer IT systems.
Founded in 1991, Hammer Technologies, a Teradyne Company, is the
pioneer of a new breed of telecom test systems designed for providers
of mission-critical voice and data telecommunications systems.
The Hammer comprehensively tests entire integrated telecom systems,
exposing hidden problems by simulating real-world users, measuring
and evaluating the responses, and taking intelligent actions. The
Hammer IT provides a single test solution for systems that incorporate
voice, data, T-1, E-1, ISDN, Wireless, PCS, TCP/IP, Speech Recognition,
and other related technologies.
Hammers are in use today by developers of computer-telephony, advanced
switching, and enhanced services systems, most of the Regional Bell
Operating Companies and long-distance carriers, and at call centers
of numerous Fortune 100 companies. Hammer is the only system that
provides a complete solution for load, feature, regression, and
in-service testing of integrated telecommunications systems and
services.
