Hammer Introduces
Freeware Drawing Toolset for
Diagramming
Call Center Applications
CallFlow
Designer Provides a No-Cost Solution for Documenting Call Flows
April 26,
2000 - Washington, DC - Hammer Technologies is introducing CallFlow
DesignerT, a new freeware toolset for diagramming call flows, at Communications
Solutions Expo 2000 being held here this week. Hammer CallFlow Designer
is the first freeware Windows application developed specifically for diagramming
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call flows and other call center applications,
according to Drew Knowland, director of marketing for Hammer's Call Center
Business Unit.
CallFlow Designer
is available now on CD-ROM. It can also be downloaded from the Web at www.ham.com/callflow.htm.
By offering
the CallFlow Designer as freeware, Hammer hopes to establish a standardized
approach to capturing call flow data for new computer telephony applications.
"Today, there is no standard way to capture call flow data and share it
among all members of a development team," said Knowland. "With CallFlow
designer, we're offering everyone-not just Hammer customers-the opportunity
to speak the same call flow language." For applications developers who
need to diagram call flows, CallFlow Designer provides a graphical editor
with a library of standard call flow icons. For analysts, business groups,
and other participants in the development and release process, it offers
a way to diagram, review, modify, and print the specifications of a new
system in standard call flow notation.
"Unlike general-purpose
drawing programs, Hammer CallFlow Designer uses the natural language of
call flows, so diagrams are easy to enter and easy to read. To build a
description of system behavior, developers simply click and place call
flow icons from a standard icon library." Knowland said.
For test development
groups, Hammer CallFlow Designer provides an easy transition to completely
automated testing of developed applications. CallFlow Designer diagrams
can be imported directly into the Hammer CallMaster test generator, which
automatically outputs Hammer IT test scripts for automated feature/function
and regression testing of call center applications. Together, Hammer CallMaster
and the Hammer IT make it possible for test developers to automatically
generate and execute a complete set of feature and function tests for complex
call center applications from a simple call flow diagram. Hammer customers
using these tools report at least a 50% reduction in test script development
time for new releases, and as much as 70% for follow-on releases.
