HAMMER VoIP
2.0 REVOLUTIONIZES
TESTING
OF CARRIER CLASS GATEWAYS
San Jose,
CA - March 27, 2000 - Hammer Technologies today announced release 2.0
of their Voice over IP Test System (VoIPTS). Release 2.0 represents
the first product for carrier class gateways that integrates up to 480
ports of full-coverage ITU standard voice quality analysis (PSQM) with
SS7, ISDN, and FAX in a single, integrated test platform.
"Packet-switched
networks carrying voice have become a reality. The success of equipment
manufacturers, carriers and service providers depends on their ability
to interoperate with circuit-switched networks. SS7 represents the
signaling intersection of these two networks and support of this protocol
is critical. Other keys to success are scalability and voice quality
while increasing service offerings, such as fax. Finding a test platform
that can address all these needs will be essential" stated Rick Phillips,
VoIP Product Manager for Hammer.
Release 2.0
incorporates many enhancements to Hammer's innovative VoIP test suite.
In addition to SS7, improved PSQM density and fax, this release incorporates
new levels of user programmability, additional ISDN variants, enhanced
scheduling, remote control,
reporting and
monitoring features as well as the ground-breaking Call Profiler introduced
with the Hammer
DS33 test system. "We took everything we learned with our pioneering
VoIP products and built them into Release 2.0", added Phillips.
With 480 ports
of voice load with full-coverage of PSQM, Hammer is committed to provide
scalable test solutions. Tom Lynch, VoIP Engineering Manager at Hammer
Technologies, stated, "This release addresses the test needs of higher-density
convergent networks, coupled with an easy-to-use, flexible interface."
This ease of use is accomplished by the integration of the Hammer VoIPTS
with TestBuilderT. Users can create their own test scenarios by visually
diagramming their call flows. The most common test cases for testing VoIP
gateways, such as call set-up, voice and tone handling, voice dropout analysis
and PSQM are provided for quick start-up. Pre-written reports are
also included.
Release 2.0
will be available Q2 of 2000. Please contact Hammer directly for
detailed pricing information.
