2003 Newsletter

Tompkins Landscaping & Irrigation has had an exciting and busy year. First of all mother nature kept it snowing well into the spring causing us to have a minimal transition period from plowing to landscaping work. This was a task that I must admit we handled very well, and would like to thank our crews for adjusting so well to the tasks at hand. Our company also needed to expand to accommodate the influx of work that was received. And on this note I would like to welcome our new employees:

  • Shawn Carroll joins our staff and brings with him over 15 years experience. He is the manger of our Construction crew. It’s been a great season for that crew ranging from patios and retaining walls to just about anything that our customers can think of. And for those that would rather leave the design to us we are more than happy to accommodate them with a design plan that best fits their needs.
  • Christopher Rozumek is the new manager for the irrigation department he also brings along 10 years of experience with him to our company. He has managed to adjust to all the different irrigation requests of our customers, whether it be a 2 zone installation or a multi- zone installation.

We also want to welcome our new employees to our company and thank them for their hard work:

Eddie, Carlos, Jason, Hector, Mike S., Mike A., Todd, Donald, Gail, & William

I would like to take this opportunity to Congratulate some of senior staff members like Christopher Paolucci who has been with our company for many years and now is our operations manager.

Great News: The New Tax law give property and business owners a tax break. The new 2003 Tax Law has given the landscape industry a major boost. Now commercial property owners and landlords who purchased their property after May 5,2003 can take a whopping 52.5% depreciation allowance on all irrigation and landscape and construction improvements this year. The 2003 depreciation allowance does not apply to single family homeowners. Tompkins Landscape recommends that you consult your tax advisor to see how this tax saving opportunity applies to your situation.
