James F. O'Donnell, Jr.
Jim is President and Co-Owner of James F. O'Donnell
and Sons in Lowell Massachusetts.
A 4th generation family owned and operated Funeral
Home established in 1884, Jim has been a Licensed
Funeral Director and Embalmer in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts since 1980. In addition, he is
Treasurer and Co-Owner of the Pelham Funeral Home
in Pelham, New Hampshire.
A graduate of Providence College in the Class
of 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Management, he also received his Associates Degree
in Funeral Service Management from New England
Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston.
Active in community affairs, Jim is a member
of the Board of Governors of Saints Memorial Medical
Center, the Board of Trustees of the Merrimack
Repertory Theatre, a Corporator for the American
Textile Museum and a member of the Greater Lowell
Chamber of Commerce.
In his professional career, Jim has served as
President of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors
Association (1994-1995), as the Massachusetts
Representative to the National Funeral Directors
Policy Board (1995-1996), and as a member of the
Massachusetts Funeral Directors Spokesperson Team.
In addition, he has taught Funeral Service Management
at Mt. Ida College in Newton.
Jim resides in Lowell with his wife Trish (Sheils)
O'Donnell and their two children Meg O'Donnell
and James F. O'Donnell, III.
John W. Crane
John W. Crane of Lowell is a Funeral Director
and associated with James F. O'Donnell & Sons
since 1974. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer
and co-owner of the O'Donnell Funeral Home in
Lowell and as the President and co-owner of the
Pelham Funeral Home in Pelham, NH. He is a native
of Holden, MA and Rye Beach, NH. A 1958 graduate
of St. John's Prep School in Danvers, MA and a
1962 graduate of Providence College with a Bachelor
Degree in Biology. He also attended the University
of New Hampshire Graduate School and the Carroll
Business School at Boston College. In 1975, he
received an Associate degree in Funeral Service
from the New England Institute in Boston, MA
John is a 1964 graduate of the US Navy Officer
Candidate School in Newport, RI and served as
the CIC/Operations Officer of the U.S.S. VanVoorhis
DE 1028. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
Commander in the US Navy Reserve in 1972.
He was also a member of the faculty at the Mount
Ida College, Funeral Service Program from 1990
through 1993.
Additionally, John has been very active in professional
and community organizations among them: as the
Past President (2001) and Board member of the
Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association, as
the Massachusetts Representative to the Policy
Board of the National Funeral Directors Association,
the Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, MA (Board
Chair 1997) , the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,
Division of Registration in Funeral Directing
and Embalming (Board Chair 1990 - 1992), as a
Life member of the Saints Memorial Medical Center
Men's Guild (President 1980 - 1981), as a Corporator
of the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, as Co-Chair
of the 1977 American Heart Association Campaign
for Greater Lowell; and as the founder of the
Fletcher Street Corridor Neighborhood Committee
in Lowell.
John resides in Lowell with his wife M. Patricia
(O'Donnell) Crane. They are parents of three children.
