FIRE RATING STANDARDS

Novasuede and our entire Nytek product line pass the following standard flammability tests:

Our products can be successfully treated to meet most international flammability standards required by a number of markets including cruise ship, hospitality, aviation, residential.

Majilite has tested representative lots of flame retardant-treated Novasuede7 and Nytek7 for these various standards at independent laboratories. The specific test reports are on file in our offices and available upon request.

AVAILABLE BACKINGS

Majilite products are used in a wide variety of applications. For some of these applications we may recommend a particular backing to ease the installation. Novasuede and the Nytek products have good tensile and tear strengths without require backings and the addition of a particular backing is not necessary for this purpose. It is not necessary to back our products for upholstery applications. The backing perform other functions such as providing softness, acoustical properties and additional thickness. Backings may be used to reduce the stretch (polycotton sheeting) of the Nytek or to provide dimensional stability during high humidity conditions (foam and tricot, sheeting and knit).

Polycotton Sheeting for Wallcovering
Our standard backing for this application is poly/cotton plain weave sheeting fabric. All of our products can be backed to this material for wallcovering applications where standard or heavy duty water based cements are used. The purpose of this backing is to take the stretch out of the material out of the material and to provide dimensional stability.

Foam and Tricot for Marine Headliner
Our standard backing for marine headliner is 1/8" foam and tricot. We do also offer 1/16" and 1/4" thickness when the applications requires those width.

Knit for Special Upholstery
For special upholstery applications where additional dimensional stability is required, we offer a cotton knit backing.
