Continua Health Alliance Certifies Freescale i.MX51 Platform for Medical Applications Running LNI HealthLink/OXP Manager Stack (OXPlib)

Durham, NH – August 12, 2010 - HealthLink/OXP manager stack (OXPlib) running on the  Freescale Semiconductor i.MX51 development platform was successfully certified by the Continua Health Alliance, a non-profit coalition of health care and technology companies who are paving the way for personal connected health and wellness solutions.

“LNI is excited to play a role in the first Continua Certified AHD hardware ‘reference’ platform,” says Barry Reinhold, the company’s president. “This certification enables the production of standardized and user-intuitive manager appliances that meet one of the critical needs of the Continua ecosystem at this time.”

LNI’s OXPlib is a full featured commercial grade protocol stack library that provides a very high level API for the development of Continua Managers in both Windows and Linux environments. OXPlib is full featured, implementing all optional features defined by the ISO/IEEE 11073-20601 standard that are valid under the Continua Guidelines. OXPlib supports USB and Bluetooth transport capabilities with ZigBee transport capability already under development.  OXPlib enables rapid development of a manager application and dramatically reduces the time it takes to bring it through certification.

The i.MX51 Application Hosting Device (AHD) Reference platform runs LNI’s OXPlib, enabling the seamless transfer of data from USB devices, like blood pressure cuff, weight scales and fitness equipment, to electronic Health Repositories (eHRs).  These devices have intuitive user interfaces, sophisticated graphics processing and extensive connectivity options. Together, LNI and Freescale provide medical manufacturers with a comprehensive, cost-effective solution.
