A
fast, accurate way to determine the optical properties of Light Emitting Diodes
and Laser Diodes The LED-1100 Spectral/Angular Analyzer is a compact, easy to
use instrument designed for complete optical analysis of LED performance. |
The LED Analyzer
uses an advanced microprocessor technology for greater sensitivity, reproducibility,
and accuracy in data collection. The instrument’s optical system offers a unique
combination of a diode array spectrometer and a calibrated large area silicon
photodiode radiometer. The spectrometer allows for measurements over the spectral
range from 350nm to 1050nm, with wavelength measurement accuracy of less than
0.5nm. The spectrometer provides instant spectrum acquisition — one touch sample
analysis gives results in less than 20 seconds.
Instrument calibration is
traceable to standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST), Physikalish Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the National Physical Laboratory
(NPL).
A convenient, detachable
measurement socket assembly allows the user to insert the LED into one of two
measurement apertures — spectral and angular. The spectral aperture measures photometric,
radiometric and colorimetric parameters. The angular aperture measures intensity
profile using a moving sensor that sweeps a 160° arch about the LED. For each
plane, the instrument’s software plots the data in either Cartesian or polar coordinates
and computes the half intensity viewing angle.
The measurement socket assembly
accepts a variety of standard and optional sockets to allow for insertion of different
types of LED packages. A standard socket assembly, included with the LED-1100,
accepts most types of TO style packages with up to 4 leads from 1/2" to 1 1/2"
long. The standard socket assembly also accepts 0.015" to 0.040" lead diameters
including axial flathead or hooked styles on pin circles from 0.100" to 0.200".
Two optional assemblies are also available: one accepts most TO package formats
with 0.100" pin circles with lead diameters to 0.020" and the other accepts a
variety of in-line style devices with up to 3 leads including TO-3 and TO-66 with
0.050" to 0.200" between leads.

n RS-232C interface connects the LED Analyzer to your computer. Menu
driven software offers a simple point and click operation the initiates the measurement
and displays results on your computer screen in tabular or graphic formats. Data
management features include a build-in report generation function that includes
necessary GLP/GMP information such as date, time, operator name, sample identification,
and test parameters. Reports are conveniently viewed on your PC, printed or exported
as text to other spreadsheet or data processing software for further review and
archiving.
