Uniform
Source Integrating Spheres include a series of five sphere designs
ranging from 6 to 40 inches in diameter. The US-060-SL, 6 inch
diameter sphere is machined from Spectralon, a thermoplastic
resin which is characterized by >99% reflectance over the wavelength
range from 400 to 1500 nm, and >95% reflectance from 250 to
2500 nm. Spectralon provides the thermal stability necessary
for applications requiring an intense uniform light source (e.g.
125,000 foot-lamberts). For the remaining spheres (6, 12, 20
and 40 inch diameters), the interiors are coated with Spectraflect
diffuse reflectance coating. Each uniform source integrating
sphere is designed to accommodate a range of light sources and
lamp power supplies offered by Labsphere.
The US-060-SL
is a 6 inch diameter sphere consisting of a machined Spectralon
cavity encased in an aluminum housing. The Spectralon sphere
is ideal for applications requiring an intense uniform light
source. The sphere is equipped with two 1 inch diameter lamp
ports and one 2 inch diameter exit port. The three ports are
located 90° apart. A port plug is included to cover the unused
lamp port. The sphere includes a rod/post base assembly comprised
of a 1/4-20 mounting boss and a 6 x 6 inch baseplate. The
baseplate may be removed for alternative mounting of the sphere.
The US-060-SF
is a 6 inch diameter integrating sphere that provides exceptional
uniform luminance over the full 2 inch diameter of the sphere
exit port. The sphere interior is coated with Spectraflect
coating. A smaller, 3 inch diameter satellite sphere (coated
with Spectraflect) is fixed to the US-060-SF, thus providing
a source of light into the larger, 6 inch sphere. An iris
diaphragm between the two spheres controls the size of the
aperture and the amount of light entering the larger sphere.
The satellite sphere has a 1 inch diameter lamp port which
accepts the standard halogen light sources.
To prevent
direct illumination from the lamp into the wall of the larger
sphere, a diffuser has been placed between the two spheres.
The mounting frame of the US-060-SF allows for sphere height
adjustment.
The
US-120-SF is a 12 inch diameter integrating sphere that provides
exceptional uniform luminance over the full 4 inch diameter
of the sphere exit port. The sphere interior is coated with
Spectraflect coating. Four 1 inch diameter lamp ports are equally
spaced around the exit port; the lamp ports are baffled to prevent
direct radiation from reaching the exit port from each individual
lamp. An additional 0.50 inch port is provided adjacent to the
exit port to accommodate a luminance monitor. A port plug is
included if this port is not used. The mounting frame supplied
with the US-120-SF allows for sphere height adjustment while
allowing sphere rotation to position the exit port aperture
in a vertical or horizontal plane.
The US-200-SF
is a 20 inch diameter integrating sphere that provides exceptional
uniform luminance over the full 8 inch diameter of the sphere
exit port. The sphere interior is coated with Spectraflect
coating. Four internal lamp mounts are equally spaced around
the exit port aperture. The lamp mounts are designed to accept
two 45 watt and two 150 watt direct mount halogen light sources.
An additional 0.50 port is provided adjacent to the exit port
to accommodate a luminance monitor. A plug is included if
the port is not used. The mounting frame supplied with the
US-200-SF allows for sphere height adjustment while allowing
sphere rotation to position the exit port aperture in a vertical
or horizontal plane.
The US-400-SF
is a 40 inch diameter integrating sphere designed to provide
exceptional uniform luminance over the full 14 inch diameter
of the sphere exit port. The sphere is internally coated with
Spectraflect. Ten internal lamp mounts are equally spaced
around the exit port aperture. The lamp mounts are designed
to accept 150 watt direct mount halogen light sources. An
additional 0.50 inch port is provided adjacent to the exit
port to accommodate a luminance monitor. A port plug is included
if this port is not used. Heavy duty locking casters supplied
as part of the US-400-SF support frame allow the unit to be
rolled and locked into position.
