FEATURES

  • Luminance Uniformity >98%
  • Calibration Traceable to NIST
  • 6 inch Diameter Spectraflect Integrating Sphere
  • 2 inch Diameter Emitting Area

The USS-600 and the USS-600V Uniform Source Systems feature 6 inch diameter Spectraflect integrating spheres designed to provide exceptionally uniform luminance over the full 2 inch diameter of the sphere exit port. Luminance output is variable from 5 to 600 foot-lamberts and uniformity is greater than 98%. Each system is calibrated to read luminance in foot-lamberts. Calibration is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.

System Options
USS-600 Uniform Source System

The USS-600 Uniform Source System features a 6 inch diameter Spectraflect integrating sphere equipped with an SSI-030 Satellite Sphere Illuminator and IHLS-100-30 30 watt Halogen Light Source which provides diffuse input to the integrating sphere. The SSI-030 features an iris diaphragm for continuous control of light levels. An LPS-045-H Lamp Power Supply provides regulated DC constant current control to the light source. An SDA-050-P Silicon Detector Assembly mounted on the main sphere monitors the luminance at the exit port aperture. The system is operated through the SC-5500 Integrating Sphere System Control, a sophisticated radiometer that offers both an IEEE-488 bus and an RS-232C serial port for optional computerization of the system.

USS-600V Uniform Source System

The USS-600V Uniform Source System includes the standard components featured in the USS-600 Uniform Source System, with the benefit of more precise control of low light levels by the addition of a VA-100-SC Motorized Variable Attenuator and VAC-1000 Variable Attenuator Control. The VAC-1000 Variable Attenuator Control, combined with the SC-5500 Integrating Sphere System Control and a personal computer, allow the user to set the VA-100-SC motorized attenuator to any of 256 linear steps. Windows-based software is supplied with the USS-600V Uniform Source System.

USS-600V System Software

The Windows-based software supplied with the USS-600V consists of a single screen slide control for adjustment of the variable attentuator, and on/off control of the system's lamps. The luminance level of the exit port is continuously displayed on the computer screen. The software may be operated by a mouse or the computer keyboard and requires no further programming. Custom software packages can be developed to allow the user, through feedback loops, to program in special characteristics.
OPTIONAL SYSTEMS CALIBRATIONS

USC-PM

The USC-PM is a point-by-point luminance measurement of the exit port plane to determine the actual uniformity.

USC-SR

The USC-SR is a spectral radiance measurement from 300 to 2400 nm to determine the actual spectral radiance in W/cm2/sr/µm.
