The USS-2000 and the USS-2000V Uniform Calibration Source Systems each feature 20 inch diameter Spectraflect integrating spheres designed to provide exceptionally uniform luminance over the full 8 inch diameter sphere exit port. Luminance output is variable from 1050 to 9000 foot-lamberts on the USS-2000 and from zero to 4000 foot-lamberts on the USS-2000V. Uniformity is greater than 98%. Each system is calibrated to read luminance in foot-lamberts. Calibration is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. The USS-2000 Uniform Source System features a 20 inch diameter Spectraflect integrating sphere equipped with two IHLS-DM-045 45 watt halogen light sources and two IHLS-DM-150, 150 watt halogen light sources which provide diffuse input to the sphere. Two LPS-045-H Lamp Power Supplies and two LPS-200-H Lamp Power Supplies provide regulated DC constant current to the light sources. The light sources can be selectively activated to achieve eight distinct output levels. Luminance output is variable from 1050 to 9000 foot-lamberts. An SDA-050-P Silicon Detector Assembly monitors the luminance at the exit port aperture. The system is operated through the SC-5500 Integrating Sphere System Control, a sophisticated radiometer that offers both an IEEE-488 bus and an RS-232C serial port for optional computerization of the system.
The USS-2000V Uniform Source System features a both the VA-100-SC motorized Variable Attenuator and the VAC-1000 Variable Attenuator Control to provide more precise control of low light levels. The VAC-1000, combined with the SC-5500 Integrating Sphere System Control and a personal computer, allow the user to set the VA-100-SC to any of 256 linear steps. Three IHLS-DM-045, 45 watt halogen light sources and one EHLS-100-75R, 75 watt externally mounted halogen light source provide input to the integrating sphere. Three LPS-045-H Lamp Power Supplies and one LPS-200-H Lamp Power Supply provide DC regulated constant current to the light sources. Each light source may be activated separately to achieve many adjustable output levels. Luminance output is variable from zero to 4000 foot-lamberts. An SDA-050-P Silicon Detector Assembly monitors the luminance at the exit port. Windows-based software is provided with the USS-2000V Uniform Source System.

OPTIONAL SYSTEMS CALIBRATIONSThe Windows-based software supplied with the USS-2000V Uniform Source System consists of a single screen that shows a slide control for adjustment of the variable attenuators, and an on/off control of the system's lamps. The luminance of the exit port is continuously displayed on the screen. The software may be operated by a mouse or the computer keyboard and requires no further programming. Custom software packages can be developed to allow the user, through feedback loops, to program in special characteristics.
The USC-PM is a point-by-point luminance measurement of the exit port plane to determine the actual uniformity.
USC-SR
The USC-SR is a spectral radiance measurement from 300 to 2400 nm to determine the actual spectral radiance in W/cm2/sr/µm.
