The
LPS-045-H and LPS-200-H Lamp Power Supplies provide a precision
regulated DC constant current source for the optimum operation
of halogen filament lamps. The LPS-045-H and the LPS-200-H Lamp
Power Supplies serve the lamps indicated on the specifications
chart below. These halogen lamp power supplies provide highly
accurate currents (±0.1% ±2.0 mA of set value) for lamp standard
measurements. The user sets the desired current or Labsphere light
source using the keys on the front panel. The power supply slowly
ramps up to the desired setting (ramp-up time is approximately
2 minutes). This ramp-up circuit prevents the high transient currents
associated with filament lamps which shorten their lifetime. Increased
lifetime in lamps is important for maintaining useful calibrations
over long periods of time. The lamp power supplies are operated
from 110-120/220-240 VAC; 50/60 Hz and will maintain their output
accuracy over a range of ±10% in line voltage fluctuations. The
front panel functions include four control buttons (power, start,
stop, option) used for powering up the instrument and starting
and stopping the current flow to the lamp. The option key includes
the following features: select current value or Labsphere light
source and rear panel remote or local sensing of voltage. Up and
down scroll keys are used for setting the current precisely. The
start and stop functions may also be controlled through the SC-5500
Integrating Sphere System Control. Two rows of backlit LCD digital
readouts show the user preset current, the actual current being
delivered to the lamp, and the operation time. Connections for
the output current are made through the rear panel with a heavy
duty two-pin connector. A cable is provided with a standard connector.
