The PDA-050 Detector Assembly consists of a 0.5 inch, side-on photomultiplier tube with a high voltage power supply, voltage divider and buffer amplifier to measure low level light signals. The design takes advantage of an inherent current gain which occurs in a dynode chain located between a photocathode and an anode. The gain is proportional to an applied high voltage. The PDA-050 is also characterized by low noise and dark current.
