Q: What will you purchase?

A: 8k, 10k, 12k, 14k, 18k, 20k, 24k and Platinum jewelry such as rings, chains, bracelets, charms, earrings and pins. We also buy gold fingernails and dental gold.

Q: What won’t you purchase?

A: Silver, watches, lockets, bangle bracelets or class rings that are not stamped are examples of items we may not purchase. If we can not determine the karat or metal content of a piece we may choose not to purchase it. This does not mean that the item is not real. It just means that we can not make a determination and choose not to take the risk of purchasing an item for which we may not be able to recover our costs.

Q: Will I be paid a competitive price?

A: Yes! We base our pricing on the current market value of gold on the day of your party. The price of gold changes by the minute, as does the rest of the stock market. Before we leave for your party, we use the current/closing market value to determine the amount we offer. We often pride ourselves by being able to offer the same (and often times more) for your gold than a jewelry store or pawn shop because we don’t have the overhead costs or inventory that they have.

Q: If the hostess makes a commission on the amount of gold sold, will I make less?

A: No, all guests will be paid the same amount, whether attending a party or requesting an individual appointment.

Q: Do you pay in grams, pennyweight (dwt) or ounces?

A: We pay in grams because our scales are certified by the Division of Standards for weights and measures in grams. There are more pennyweights per gram and more grams per troy ounce.  The amount you are paid in U.S. Dollars is the same amount whether weighed in pennyweights, grams, or ounces.  The price you see on the internet or in the newspaper is the price of 24 karat pure gold, based on the Troy Ounce.  The higher the karat of gold, the softer it is. This is why most jewelry is made from 10k-18k rather than 24k, otherwise it is more likely to dent or break. The lower the karat of gold the less pure it is. Troy Ounces weigh more than the regular ounces we are familiar with. We break down the price of your gold by weight in grams and by karat. We are always happy to do any conversions for you.

Q: Are you able to remove any stones?

A: If the stones are set on prongs and we are confident we can remove them without damaging the stone then we are happy to do this for you. We are not jewelers and can not be held responsible for any damage to any stones we remove. You are welcome to use our equipment to try and remove the stones yourself. We will buy the piece with the stones, but the price we offer is based solely on the value of the gold.

Q: What happens to the jewelry after you buy it?

A: It will be melted down by refineries.

Q: Do you pay in cash?

A: No, we can not pay in cash for several reasons: We can not know in advance how much cash we would need because we can not know in advance how much gold we are going to purchase. Also, for safety reasons, we do not want our representatives carrying large amounts of cash to your home. We pay by business check and can provide multiple references upon request.

Q: How can I make my party a success?

A: There is no particular day or night that works better than another. You can send an invitation via email using our GOLD to GREEN Party invites or an “evite” invitation. For best results, you should send your invites about 2 weeks before your party. Remember that only about 25% of the people you invite will attend, so invite as many people as you can. We find that the parties that earn the most cash usually have approximately 15 guests or more that sell gold. The best way to ensure a good turnout is to follow up with a personal phone call explaining the party concept and to let people know you need a head count in order to determine how many GOLD to GREEN Parties, LLC  Representatives will need to come to your home. Our representatives will arrive about 15-30 minutes prior to your party in order to set up our equipment. In order to keep things moving along, it is best to provide us with a kitchen size table and good lighting.

Q: Do you do fundraisers?

A: Yes! A GOLD to GREEN Parties, LLC fundraiser is a great way to raise quick and easy money for your charity, organization or association! The fundraiser earns up to 15% of all the gold purchased, and the attendees get to leave with money instead of feeling obligated to spend it!
