Much to my chagrin Fred Ford, staff coordinator, released an announcement by e-mail that the East Coast Jazz will not go out in competition next year.

As most of you know, I have been sending announcements all along reminding everyone that I am working hard to put together a viable financial plan for the East Coast Jazz that will provide us with a blueprint for 2006/2007.

Please disregard any e-mails or other rumors that The East Coast Jazz is finished. I am very confident that a workable plan will be developed to satisfy all our needs and that will make it clear that The East Coast Jazz is on the right track for the future.

Don't be concerned about the sale of our old buses. They are not suitable for the long trek to California. The sale of our battery equipment was
contemplated long ago. We had to wait for the end of the 2006 season before we could let them go. These moves are not signs that we planning to close.

Sit tight. Don't make any decision right now that you should consider moving on from the East Coast Jazz. We will welcome you back at our open house on Thanksgiving weekend with a great staff of instructors ready to bring the East Coast Jazz to California for the 2007 Drum Corps International World Championship.

If you came to this web site seeking information about joining The East Coast Jazz, please be patient. This web site has been brought on line a
little prematurely to make sure the word gets out that The East Coast Jazz will be around next year. The web site will undergo continuous editing over
the next week or so until it is complete.
