The system functions as one of the our Web servers. You may develop course materials
in your personal account on sunset, however it is preferred that you place your
course web pages within the main hierarchy on. There are several advantages
to setting up your course , most significant is that your materials will be
indexed by the Web search engine and that you will have more disk space.
To have a course directory set up for your class, you will need a account on Server99. To get an account you will need to go to the Helpdesk, apply, and fill out the forms. This action will establish your Server99 account, however you will need to visit the IT Helpdesk, bringing your Univerisity ID, in order to activate the account. Once your cedar account is active you will need to fill out the Request for Course Web page Link form.
Many UM instructors already have course Web Pages on various departmental servers. To have an existing course linked from the UM Web courses page, fill out the Request for Course Web page Link form.
Blackboard Blackboard is a web-based instruction package licensed by UM, and supported by IT, as the standard campus e-learning platform. Faculty and instructors can use it to easily make available course materials, documents, chat environments, discussion boards and quizzes online.
