Your First Ride

The YOUR FIRST RIDE Module contains the following lessons:

• Get to Know the Keys
  There are three keys. Each has a different forward and turning speed. We’ll show you which Key to use first.
  
• Power On
  You need to power on the Segway HT before you step onto the Platform. We’ll show you how.
  
• Enter Balance Mode
  There are two modes. Balance Mode is for riding. This lesson explains how to enter Balance Mode.
  
• Step On
  Stepping on can be trickier than you think. Make sure you have a friend here to help you with this lesson!
  
• Move Forward and Back
  Wow! How does it know how to move? You’ll get the hang of it very quickly, but don’t get overconfident.
  
• Turn
  Oh...so that’s how it turns. You’ll be turning on a dime at the end of this lesson.
  
• Step Off
  Make sure your friend is there to hold the Handlebar the first time you step off. We’ll show the correct technique for stepping off.
  
• Use Power Assist Mode
  Power Assist Mode is a non-riding mode that allows you to use the Segway HT’s power to move over slippery surfaces; obstacles; up and down steps; up, down, or across steep slopes.
  
• Power Off
  When you finish riding, power off your Segway HT and take the Keys with you!
  
• Test Your Knowledge
  Answering these questions correctly will help you feel confident that you understand the information, and alert you to what you need to review.
