Before You Ride

The GETTING STARTED module contains the following lessons. Please complete all lessons in this module prior to riding the Segway HT.

• Assemble your Segway HT
  Your Segway HT arrives in a specially designed box which helps protect it during shipping. In this lesson, you will unpack your Segway HT, and attach your Handlebar to the Base. If you ordered a Segway GT, or any cargo accessory, do not install the Golf Bag Carrier or cargo accessory until you have completed all Modules in this training course.
  
  
• Charge Batteries
  Before your first ride, you must charge the Battery Packs for 12 hours at room temperature. To avoid permanent damage to the Battery Packs, you must fully charge the Battery Packs at least once every month, even when your Segway HT is in storage.
  
  
• Get Ready
  You’ll need to get a friend to help you, find a helmet that fits properly, and locate an appropriate area.
  
  
• Adjust Handlebar
  We’ll show you how to adjust the Handlebar to the proper height for riding.
  
  
• Test Your Knowledge
  These questions will help you feel confident that you understand the information, and alert you to what you need to review.
  At the end of this module, your Segway HT will be assembled, adjusted, charged, and ready to ride.
