Gloves
(specify): Wear appropriate gloves to
prevent skin exposure. |
Respiratory
(specify): Follow OSHA regulations found in 29CFR 1910.134 |
Eye (specify):
Wear eyeglasses or goggles as specified in OSHA eye and face regs. In 29CFR
1910.133 |
Footwear
(specify) |
||||||||||
Clothing
(specify): Wear appropriate clothing
to prevent skin exposure. |
Other (specify) |
||||||||||||
Engineering
Controls (e.g., ventilation, enclosed process, specify) Use adequate
general or local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below
permissible exposure limits. |
|||||||||||||
Leak &
Spill Procedure Clean up spills
immediately, using appropriate personal protective equipment. Cover spill with sand, dry lime, or soda
ash. |
|||||||||||||
Waste Disposal Place used
sand, lime, or soda ash use to adsorb spill or leak in a closed container for
disposal. Dispose of in a manner
consistent with federal, state, and local regulations. |
|||||||||||||
Handling
Procedures & Equipment Wash thoroughly
after handling, remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on
clothing. Keep in a tightly closed
container. Do not allow contact with
water. Use only in a chemical fume
hood. |
|||||||||||||
Storage Requirements Don not store
near combustible materials. Keep
container closed when not in use.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from alkaline
substances and other incompatible substances. |

SECTION VIII– FIRST AID MEASURES |
|||||||||||||
Skin Get medical aid
immediately. Flush skin with plenty of
soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing
and shoes. SPEEDY ACTION IS CRITICAL! |
|||||||||||||
Eye Get medical aid
immediately. Do not allow victim to
rub or keep eyes closed. Extensive
irrigation is required (at least 30 minutes) |
|||||||||||||
Inhalation Get medical aid
immediately. Remove from exposure to
fresh air immediately. If breathing is
difficult, give oxygen. |
|||||||||||||
Ingestion Do not induce
vomiting. If victim is conscious and
alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid
immediately. |
