Internal Links

Previously I referenced that a source anchor could have a destination that is "a URL or anchor name". You know what a URL is...but what's an anchor name?

An anchor name is an destination anchor within an HTML file that lets you identify an exact location for an internal link. Internal links are particularly useful when you have a lot of information in a single file, and you want to provide internal navigation.

To see it in action, click here to jump to the bottom of this page.

Notice that you clicked on a source anchor to jump to a destination anchor in the same HTML file.

Use the scroll bar at the right to work your way back up (I could put a link here, but then you wouldn't get the concept as clearly).
